Pack a picnic and hike up Talcott Mountain State Park, Simsbury, Rte. 185. Climb the tower for a panoramic view! Then go west to Route 10 and north to see three centuries of history at the Phelps tavern Museum and Homestead. Stay overnight in one of the town's historic inn or B&B. Then it's off to Flamig Farm in West Simsbury where you'll find a petting zoo and hay, sleigh or pony rides. Stop by Tulmeadow Farm on Rte. 309 for some fresh, farm-made ice cream before you head back.
