9. Art, History & Time for Romance

  1. The city of New Haven is the place for art, history and a little romance. Everything is so close. See the great collection at the Yale Center for British Art. Stroll across the street to the Yale Art Museum then stop by the Yale University Visitor Information Center for a guided one-hour walking tour of historic Yale Campus. Have lunch at Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria. A must see is the Peabody Museum of Natural History where you can view exhibits of dinosaur fossils, wildlife dioramas, Mesoamerican, ancient Egyptian and Native North Americans cultures. Make overnight reservations at a downtown hotel. Catch an evening performance at the Shubert Performing Arts Center. Take a one-hour ‘New Haven Firsts’ Tour starting at the New Haven Green, downtown. See examples of Gothic, Federal and Georgian churches among other national historic landmarks. ‘New Haven Firsts’ tours run April thru October.
