SCHOOL BREAK GETAWAY DEALS AVAILABLE A SHORT DRIVE AWAY IN CONNECTICUT

HARTFORD, CT, March 31, 2004 - With school break lurking around the corner, Connecticut - only a short drive away - offers great packages available for travelers seeking a quick and easy getaway during the week-long break. From family packages, to kid-friendly events, to a quiet, restful spring weekend -- Connecticut offers it all to spring breakers both young and young at heart.

Maritime Aquarium April Vacation Adventure - Norwalk, CT
Children can spend all or part of school vacation at the exciting Maritime Aquarium learning about sea creatures and their mysterious watery world. With five different activity-oriented classes, children can choose the class in which they are most interested in participating. Classes range from studying whales, turtles, sharks, coastal critters and microbes. You can sign up for a week's worth of classes or select just one. Each class is designed with crafts, experiments and animal adventures. The Aquarium, which is also home to Connecticut's only IMAX Theatre, features more than 1,000 animals indigenous to Long Island Sound, and includes a hands-on touch tank with sting rays - without stingers - and the "Jellyfish Encounter" tank.
Package runs April 19-23 from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. each day. Pre-care is available from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Cost is $230 for the entire week or $52 per day, and pre-care costs $58 per week or $13 per day. Stamford Marriott Pedal to the Metal Weekend Getaway - Stamford, CT
If exploring the wonders of nature is high on the family list this year, the Stamford Marriott Inn has a getaway package that includes admission to the Stamford Museum and Nature Center.
